How to treat hair loss and hair loss tips
Hair loss in women can be treated, but there are some things that must be done before a hair transplant is performed, according to a new hair transplant guide.
The guide comes as the number of new hair transplants is rising, and some experts are warning that some women may not be able to undergo the procedure.
It’s all about timing, says dermatologist Dr Rachel Smith.
“It may help with the hair loss symptoms that women might be experiencing, but if you’ve got hair loss that’s severe, or you’ve been using medication to manage it, you may not need a transplanted hair transplant.””
In general, a hair-loss surgery is not necessary for women if you’re able to control your hair loss,” Dr Smith says.
“It may help with the hair loss symptoms that women might be experiencing, but if you’ve got hair loss that’s severe, or you’ve been using medication to manage it, you may not need a transplanted hair transplant.”
The guide for men, which was created by a team of doctors and surgeons from the University of Newcastle, describes what to expect after the operation, what to wear and how to treat your hair after the procedure is done.
Dr Smith recommends avoiding any medication and staying hydrated.
Dr Smith said a patient would want to ensure they have a good supply of water.
“They should have a supply of fresh, clean water, because otherwise it can be very important that you’re drinking enough to be able sustain yourself and your body after the hair transplant,” she says.
If you are unsure about whether or not you need a haircut, Dr Smith advises checking the hair before the transplant.””
If you’re a smoker, you might want to smoke a lot, and if you drink a lot of alcohol, you need to keep your drinking down.”

And, you should also check your skin and hair.””

Dr Sami Khan, a dermatologist from Newcastle University, says a good hair transplant technique is to get the affected area into a plastic bag, then roll the hair around to get it out.
Dr Khan says that the patient should also keep the hair on a regular basis and to wash it off regularly.”
The best thing to do is to have regular washing of the hair, because that’s really important,” he says.
But there are certain things that are not considered necessary after the surgery, Dr Khan says.
He advises patients not to smoke and alcohol, as this could affect the healing process.
Dr Jones says if you want to get a hair cut, you will have to be careful.”
Just be aware that there is some risk of getting hair on your face,” he said.”
