Indian woman loses $100,000 worth of hair after hair transplant
A 22-year-old woman in India was left with $100K worth of lost hair after her breast augmentation surgery.
In January, the woman had her surgery to remove a tumor from her breast, which resulted in the loss of her hair.
The woman, whose name was not released, had undergone the procedure on her right breast.
In June, the same operation on her left breast was performed on her.
“After the operation, I was told I lost around 10% of my hair and it was very hard to get rid of it,” the woman told The Next Spokesperson.
“My husband also lost about 10% and he is very concerned.”
According to The Next, the Indian National Cosmetic Council (NCC), which oversees the procedures, said that the operation cost the woman around $8,000.
“We do not recommend this procedure to women who are not physically able to have breast augments because of their age,” a spokesperson said.
“This procedure is not recommended for women with a history of breast cancer.”
It also said that there is no scientific evidence that breast augusions can be used for permanent hair loss.
